The Rutledge Center supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are ready to experience COMMUNITY like never before.
HOW TO APPLY FOR SERVICES
Adults with developmental disabilities are eligible to apply for Medicaid Waiver services through the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) http://www.dbhdd.ga.gov. Evaluations, eligibility determinations and waiver approvals are handled through DBHDD. People interested in Rutledge services should apply for the Medicaid Waiver as soon as possible. This web-based portal allows individuals and families to submit applications for IDD services and track their application through the process in real time. Individuals and their families can view their application determination online and submit secure messages regarding their application.
Items that will be needed to submit your online application include:
- Official Birth Certificate
- Medicaid/Medicare Card
- Psychological Evaluation
- Social Security Card
- Developmental Evaluation
- School IEP Report
- School Transcript
- Vocational/Support Employment Records
- Permanent Residence Card
- Social Security Benefit Letter
- Other Medical or Diagnostic Reports

Rutledge Center does not participate in the Waiver application and approval process. But, once an individual is determined to be eligible by DBHDD the individual can choose their support services that best fit their needs.
SCHOOL TRANSITION PROGRAM
Each year we have young people transition from local high schools to our program and find great success. We encourage you to find support services as soon as possible after high school because the gap (years) can widen quickly and make the transition a serious challenge. Rutledge Center can help fill this gap.
